Is there a shuttle from Banff?

Banff National Park offers four major Gondola sightseeing lift experiences, each providing a unique way to experience the Canadian Rockies.

Sunshine Village Sightseeing Gondola & Standish Chairlift

Is there a shuttle from Banff?

Yes, but there is not a dedicated free summer sightseeing-gondola shuttle that runs directly from Banff to the Lake Louise Ski Resort in the same way the resort operates ski shuttles during winter.

For summer visitors, one practical option is to take Roam Transit Route 8X from Banff toward Lake Louise and then use the local connector between Lake Louise Village and the Lake Louise Ski Resort/Summer Gondola. This allows you to reach the gondola without having a car.

There are also private shuttle and tour operators that provide transportation from Banff to the Lake Louise area. Some services combine transportation with visits to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, so these can work well if you're planning a full sightseeing day rather than visiting only the gondola.

Be careful not to confuse the different Lake Louise shuttles. The Parks Canada shuttle system primarily provides access from the Park & Ride at the Lake Louise Ski Resort to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake; it isn't the regular direct transportation option from Banff to the Summer Gondola.

If you're staying in Banff without a vehicle, the Roam Transit plus Lake Louise local connector is generally the most straightforward public-transit approach for reaching the Summer Sightseeing Gondola. Book the Banff Sunshine Village Sightseeing Gondola & Standish Chairlift
