How long is the gondola ride?

The Lake Louise Summer Sightseeing Gondola ride takes approximately 14 minutes each way from the base area of the Lake Louise Ski Resort up Whitehorn Mountain.

The ascent is long enough to enjoy the changing scenery rather than simply serving as transportation. During the ride, you gradually rise above the forest and ski slopes, with increasingly expansive views across the Bow Valley toward Lake Louise, Victoria Glacier, and the surrounding Canadian Rockies.

If the open-air chairlift is operating, the journey provides a more exposed and immersive experience, while the enclosed gondola offers protection from wind and cooler mountain temperatures.

For the entire visit, it is reasonable to allow about 2–3 hours. That gives you time for the ride up and down, viewpoints, photography, wildlife watching, and exploring the upper mountain area.
