Do I need tickets in advance?

Banff National Park offers four major Gondola sightseeing lift experiences, each providing a unique way to experience the Canadian Rockies.

Sunshine Village Sightseeing Gondola & Standish Chairlift

Do I need tickets in advance?

No. You do not normally need to purchase Lake Louise Summer Sightseeing Gondola tickets in advance. Tickets can generally be purchased when you arrive at the Lake Louise Ski Resort during the summer sightseeing season.

Buying in advance can still be useful during July, August, holiday weekends, and other busy periods. It gives you one less thing to arrange when you arrive and can make the start of your visit more convenient.

Unlike attractions that require a tightly controlled departure time, the Lake Louise sightseeing experience generally offers continuous lift access during operating hours, so you are not necessarily committing to one exact gondola departure when purchasing a regular sightseeing ticket.

If you're visiting as part of a tightly scheduled Lake Louise day, purchasing ahead is a sensible choice. If your plans depend heavily on weather and visibility, waiting until closer to your visit can give you more flexibility.

For most visitors, the simple answer is: advance tickets are recommended for convenience, but they are not normally required. Book the Banff Sunshine Village Sightseeing Gondola & Standish Chairlift
