Can you see Rock Isle Lake from the top?

Yes. Rock Isle Lake is clearly visible from the top of the Standish Chairlift area, particularly from the Standish Viewing Deck. In fact, the elevated view of Rock Isle Lake is one of the signature scenes at Sunshine Meadows.

From the viewing deck, you look down across the alpine landscape toward Rock Isle Lake, surrounded by meadows, forest, and mountain peaks. Because you are well above the lake, you get a much broader perspective than you do when standing along its shoreline.

You can also see Grizzly Lake and Laryx Lake from the Standish area, giving you a panorama of all three of Sunshine Meadows' principal alpine lakes.

The view is especially impressive on a clear, calm morning, when visibility tends to be good and the lakes can appear particularly vivid against the surrounding green meadows. During wildflower season, the foreground can also be filled with alpine vegetation and flowers.

After seeing Rock Isle Lake from above, you can hike down from the Standish area toward the lake for a completely different perspective.
