Can pets ride the open chairlift?

No. Pets cannot ride the open-air chairlift at the Lake Louise Summer Sightseeing Gondola. The resort's pet restriction applies to the sightseeing lift experience, so regular dogs and other pets should remain at the base rather than being taken up Whitehorn Mountain.

Dogs are welcome in permitted areas around the resort grounds at the base, but you'll need to make arrangements for your pet if you want to ride the lift and explore the upper mountain.

Service animals are the exception. Visitors travelling with a certified service animal should speak with staff at the ticket counter before boarding so the appropriate arrangements can be made.

The restriction is particularly understandable on the open chair because animals cannot be safely secured in the same way passengers can, and Whitehorn Mountain is also important wildlife habitat, including grizzly bear habitat.
