Can I combine it with Moraine Lake?

Yes. You can combine the Lake Louise Summer Sightseeing Gondola with Moraine Lake in the same day, and it can make an excellent full-day itinerary. The key is planning transportation carefully because private vehicles generally cannot drive to Moraine Lake during the main visitor season.

The best approach is usually to visit Moraine Lake first, particularly if you have an early shuttle reservation. Spend roughly two to three hours there enjoying the lakeshore, walking the Rockpile Trail for the famous Valley of the Ten Peaks view, and taking photographs. If you add a substantial hike such as Larch Valley, however, combining it with the gondola becomes much more difficult.

After Moraine Lake, return by your scheduled transportation and continue to the Lake Louise Summer Sightseeing Gondola at the Lake Louise Ski Resort. The gondola works well as an afternoon attraction because you can ride up Whitehorn Mountain, look for wildlife, visit the interpretive areas, enjoy the viewpoints, and have something to eat.

Allow approximately two to four hours for the gondola experience, depending on whether you're simply sightseeing or adding an upper-mountain hike. If you only ride up, explore the main areas, and return, you won't need as much time.

The combination gives you two very different experiences. Moraine Lake provides the famous turquoise water and Valley of the Ten Peaks, while Whitehorn Mountain provides an elevated perspective across the Bow Valley, wildlife-viewing opportunities, hiking, and distant views toward Lake Louise and Victoria Glacier.

You could even combine Moraine Lake, Lake Louise, and the sightseeing gondola in one long summer day, but that becomes much more schedule-dependent and is best suited to sightseeing rather than substantial hiking. For a more relaxed day, I would choose Moraine Lake in the morning and the Lake Louise Gondola in the afternoon.

The most important thing is to arrange your Moraine Lake shuttle or permitted transportation in advance and leave enough buffer time before any timed gondola plans.
