Can I combine Sunshine Village with other Banff attractions?

Yes. Sunshine Village can be combined with other Banff attractions, especially if you treat the gondola and Standish experience as a half-day outing rather than doing a long Sunshine Meadows hike.

A particularly easy combination is Sunshine Village and the Banff townsite. Spend the morning riding the gondola and Standish Chairlift, visit the viewing deck, and take a shorter walk around Sunshine Meadows. Later, return to Banff for restaurants, shopping, Cascade Gardens, Bow Falls, or a walk along the Bow River.

You can also combine Sunshine with Vermilion Lakes or Lake Minnewanka. Both work well as scenic stops later in the day because they don't necessarily require a large time commitment. Lake Minnewanka is particularly suitable if you simply want to explore the lakeshore rather than adding a scheduled boat cruise.

Another strong pairing is Sunshine Village and the Banff Gondola. Sunshine provides the natural high-alpine experience-meadows, lakes, trails, and the open Standish Chairlift-while the Banff Gondola provides views over the townsite and Bow Valley, along with the Sulphur Mountain boardwalk and summit facilities. Doing both makes for a busy but very scenic day.

Johnston Canyon can also be combined with Sunshine if you limit yourself to the shorter canyon hike. However, adding the Upper Falls or Ink Pots along with a substantial Sunshine Meadows hike would make the day quite long.

You can even combine Sunshine with Lake Louise, although transportation and parking or shuttle reservations require more planning during peak summer. For this combination, keep Sunshine to roughly 3-4 hours.

If you want to complete the longer Rock Isle-Grizzly-Laryx Lake hiking circuit, I would not try to pack several other major attractions into the same day. Sunshine Meadows is much more enjoyable when you aren't constantly watching the clock.
