Are there cafes or snack options?

Banff National Park offers four major Gondola sightseeing lift experiences, each providing a unique way to experience the Canadian Rockies.

Sunshine Village Sightseeing Gondola & Standish Chairlift

Are there cafes or snack options?

Yes. The Lake Louise Summer Sightseeing Gondola has several casual cafes and snack options, particularly around the base area at the Lodge of Ten Peaks. You do not have to plan a full restaurant meal to find something to eat or drink.

Slopeside Coffee is the main coffee stop. It serves Starbucks coffee and other hot and cold beverages, along with fresh baked goods, popcorn, candy and other quick snacks. It is a convenient place to grab a coffee before riding the gondola or pick up a treat when you return to the base.

The Lodge of Ten Peaks Cafeteria offers a wider selection and works well for a quick breakfast or lunch. Choices typically include hot grill items, grab-and-go salads, pastries, snacks, and hot and cold drinks. It is a good alternative for families or visitors who want something casual rather than a sit-down meal.

There is also Banded Peak Base Camp at the base of the mountain. It has a more relaxed outdoor mountain atmosphere, with a patio overlooking the gondola area. The summer menu focuses more on barbecue-style food, including pulled pork and beef brisket, along with cold and hot beverages.

At the upper mountain, Whitehorn Bistro is the principal dining option. It is more of a sit-down restaurant than a cafe, but you can also stop there for a beverage or lighter refreshment while enjoying the mountain views.

For a typical visit, you could easily grab coffee and a pastry before going up, ride the gondola and explore the upper mountain, and then return to the base for a snack or casual lunch. This makes it easy to spend several hours at the Lake Louise Summer Gondola without needing to bring a full meal with you. Book the Banff Sunshine Village Sightseeing Gondola & Standish Chairlift
