Are service animals permitted?

Yes. Qualified service animals are permitted at the Lake Louise Summer Sightseeing Gondola, although special procedures apply.

Service animals are treated differently from regular pets because they are required to assist a person with a disability. If you're visiting with a service animal, speak with resort staff at the ticket counter before boarding so they can explain the appropriate lift arrangements.

The enclosed gondola is generally the appropriate way to travel with a service animal, rather than the open-air chairlift. Staff can provide instructions based on the animal, passenger needs, lift operations, and current conditions.

Regular pets and emotional-support animals that do not meet the applicable requirements for a service animal are not permitted on the sightseeing lifts.

Whitehorn Mountain is also active wildlife habitat, including grizzly bear habitat, so additional precautions may apply once you're on the upper mountain. Wildlife activity can result in temporary trail restrictions or affect where a service animal can safely accompany its handler.
